The Canadian Consortium for Health Promotion Research (CCHPR), hosts and producers of the 19th IUHPE World Conference, held in Vancouver, BC, Canada in June 2007, is pleased to continue publication of this website as an archive of the conference proceedings.
A full copy of the conference website, complete with its searchable database of abstracts, is contained in the first branch – Conference Website. Subject to funding, it will be maintained as a reference source for anyone’s use.
The second and newer branch – currently labeled Video Gallery – will contain multimedia recordings of the conference. The CCHPR has video recordings of all the presentations delivered in the main conference hall and audio recordings (and many PowerPoint presentations) of the other hundreds of Debate and Dialogue and concurrent presentations made throughout the conference.
The video gallery is presented here for you to view on line. The CCHPR is also developing facilities to: similarly broadcast the audio and PowerPoint materials, offer ‘packages’ of related presentations for licensed use, and link and deliver the whole via an extension of the searchable database.
The extent to and speed at which the multimedia recordings will be published will depend upon the interest shown in them (more interest will encourage expansion but will also increase the cost of delivering them to visitors) and upon the availability of funds with which to do so. That may, therefore, include user fees (kept as small as possible) to offset development and maintenance costs.
In the meantime, enjoy the fine videos which are now available and watch for updates and additions.
Please note that the CCHPR Conference Office is now disbanded so the phones and email accounts referred to in the conference website are no longer operational. CCHPR does continue to operate the info@iuhpeconference.org email account though via volunteers. Your questions and comments will be received there; the CCHPR will endeavour to reply but cannot guarantee a timely or any response.
